Acroville Residences and Officetel were developed by Daelim Corporation as a new model of high-intelligence, urban up-scale living and working. The landscape, all above 5 basement floors, was conceived to lend status and distinct image as well as to afford privacy. Contemporary color walls continue the tradition of Korean garden walls and create a clear territorial articulation and quiet oasis. The design proposes soft flowing curves and abstracted floral shapes to counteract the geometry of the high-rise grid. The figurative super-graphic design 'Nature in the City' eases way-finding as it continues all the way into the building lobbies, provides a sense of place, and is particularly beautifully seen from the apartments when wet with rain. At the ground level, this 'painting' is filled with large orchard type plantings of flowering trees, sloped for visual effect, increased soil depth and response to the large scale of the buildings.
