Asan Medical Center in Seoul is Korea's largest research and teaching hospital. Rapidly expanding, and in intense quality competition with other health care facilities, the campus development is re-conceptualized to become a "Healing Landscape", healing both sick patients and sick urban nature. As initial step in this process the Main Plaza is re-designed to be a soft, green oasis with slightly secluded sitting areas of different character. A new Healing Garden on the roof adjacent to the delivery ward offers young mothers and their visitors many sensual delights from the abundant plants, flowers, small fountains, and a play area replicating a hospital room.
